May Medal - The Story of David

A very respectable turn out of 38 for the May Medal, with the weather being mixed but mainly good. There were three players who all came in with exceptional scores of 69, the winner on count back was David Toule second was Mike Gulliford and third Tin Win all of which deserve our congratulations. The other players scores like the weather were mixed; many caught glimpses of the sunshine while others went round totally under a dark cloud.

Well done to those in the winner's enclosure and the Full Table can be found here and eclectic is here.

May Monthly Stableford - Rea Burns Competition
The fine weather bought out the Seniors like the blossom on the trees. 36 Seniors sprung forth, the best of the bunch being Tom Rea with a fine showing of 40 points for which he was pruned one shot. Second place went to George Forbes on count back with 36 points, third to Michael Learwood-Griffiths.
Although not quite getting into the frame Pat Stanford also had 36 points and for the very few who did not know he also got two birdies towards the eclectic.
Unfortunately many of the others withered in the heat.
The full result sheet can be seen here and the Eclectic here.

Peter Driver Memorial Cup - Pats A Head

Twice in one week, a qualifying Medal Competition on The Lakes AND blowing a gale (a three-club wind in my opinion)! 32 starters and the result (in shots) very similar to Monday, no-one played to their handicap and as a result there were no handicap movements.

In the circumstances the inhabitants of the winners enclosure deserve a big round of applause and they were, 3rd Ray Woodcock net 75, 2nd Colin Thornton (the bridesmaid again) 75 and our winner with an excellent 74 was Pat Stanford .

No prizes for guessing the hardest hole as number 10 was head on into the wind and played 2.81 over par. The 12th wasn't far from that at 2.56 over. The "easiest" hole was the 8th at 0.91 over.

Incidentally one of our number volunteered (claimed) a new record in that he managed to score 18 on hole 10. I thought he looked tired as he came in.

The full result may be seen here - this round did not count towards the Eclectic but the link is here anyway.
