Details of the Belton Woods Seniors Section including Application Form

Belton Woods Seniors Golf Society is a sub-section of Belton Woods Hotel and Country Club. Based at the excellent Belton Woods Hotel and Leisure complex, the society enjoys unparalleled facilities.

Two championship courses provide variety and challenge for golfers of all standards. The Lakes Course (Par 72, 6,781 yards) provides a great test of both golf and nerve! As well as being a challenge providing any golfer with considerable satisfaction, the delighful setting offers many stretches of water inhabited by a variety of water birds who show considerable interest as your ball drops in the water. The parkland setting of the Woods Course (Par 73, 6,605 yards) means that it is largely free of water hazards, but it nevertheless demands thought and respect if a good score is to be achieved. Despite their challenging nature, both courses allow golfers of any standard to think their way around the course and enjoy the satisfaction of returning a good score.

Our full members (who must be members of Belton Woods Golf Club) range from those who have just reached the age of 55 years to some who have left that birthday far behind! Golfers of all ability levels join in the activities of the Society. We also enjoy the company of a number of Friends of the Society who do not meet the age criterion, but enjoy participating in our programme.

The Society meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week, with principal competitions being held on the Wednesday. Monday and Friday are usually used for casual golf. In Spring and Summer, the meeting time (In the “Claret Jug” Bar) is around 0730/0745. In Autumn and Winter assembly time is usually 0800. For exact times see our tee-times page.

Our programme includes the usual Medal and Stableford Competitions and there are regular matches against other clubs in the area. The Calendar gives a fuller list of coming activities. If you would like to view the programme, please CLICK HERE.

There are many reasons for joining the Seniors. Good golfing company ranks pretty high on the list as does the ability to turn up on Monday, Wednesday or Friday throughout the year and being certain of a game without having to telephone around trying to make complex arrangements!
